Overview
Streemi.ng turns an Android tablet into a Mac display. The app does not require an account and does not show ads.
Data We Do Not Collect
We do not collect browsing history, screen contents, media contents, microphone audio, contacts, location, or account credentials.
Crash Reporting and Diagnostics
The app keeps a local diagnostic event log to help troubleshoot display compatibility issues. If the app crashes, the local log stores the thread name, exception class, and exception message. This crash information is not uploaded by itself.
Diagnostic uploads happen when you tap "Send support diagnostics" or when an automatic diagnostic upload is enabled for troubleshooting. Each upload includes an anonymous support ID so we can find the matching report when you ask for help.
A diagnostic bundle contains three files: report.json, events.jsonl, and visible-log.txt. report.json contains schema version, creation time, app version, app version code, build type, device manufacturer, device model, Android SDK version, Android release, compatibility profile, tablet audio setting, diagnostics opt-in setting, diagnostic install ID, rotation mask, trial length in minutes, and receiver active state. events.jsonl contains local app event records with timestamp, category, and message. visible-log.txt contains the on-screen connection log when you manually send or share diagnostics; automatic early-disconnect uploads leave visible-log.txt empty.
Diagnostic logs are sanitized on your device before they are written into a bundle or uploaded. The sanitizer redacts IPv4 addresses, four-digit pairing codes after "pairing code", public-key values after "pk=", and encrypted-key values after "ekey=" where those patterns are recognized.
Uploaded diagnostics are sent as a zip file with the app version and diagnostic install ID in request headers. The server stores the zip file and records upload metadata: generated upload ID, storage path, byte size, SHA-256 hash, hashed (anonymized) diagnostic install ID, hashed (anonymized) client IP address, app version, user agent, and server timestamps used for storage and rate limiting.
Diagnostic information is used for troubleshooting, support, bug fixing, compatibility work, rate limiting, duplicate detection, and product improvement. It is not used for advertising, profiling, or marketing, and is not sold to third parties.
Purchases
Purchases are handled by Google Play. Streemi.ng receives purchase status from Google Play so the app can unlock paid features.
Network Use
Streemi.ng advertises itself on your local network so your Mac can find it as a display. Display and audio data are handled locally between your Mac and tablet during a session.
Changes
We may update this policy as the app changes. The latest version will be posted on this page.
Data Deletion
Streemi.ng does not require an account. If you sent diagnostics or contacted support, you can request deletion on the Data Deletion page.
